Gumbad Mubarak

Inside the gumbad mubarak, there is a silver ‘Chaparkhat’ (canopy) inlaid with pieces of mother-of-pearl presented by Emperor Jahangir. Between the four poles supporting this, there is silver `katehra’ (railing) with an arch towards the south.

Begami Dalaan

Overhanging the principal eastern to the Shrine or Mausoleum, there is a handsome porch known as Begami Daalaan which was built in 1643 AD by Princess Jahan Ara Begam, the favorite daughter of Emperor Shah Jahan.


Mazar Sharif

Khwaja Saheb was laid to rest in the same cabin where he had prayed and meditated and breathed his last. Sultan Ghayasuddin built the Mazar and the tomb with a glittering dome over it.

Kadam Ajmer Sharif

Qadam Sharif was originally built by Firoz Shah Tughlaq as a tomb for his son Fateh Khan, but the structure has been heavily altered since. The tomb, now located in the Pahar Ganj area, was enclosed inside an irregular kot .

Biwi Shab Ki Dargah

Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti married at an advanced stage in obedience to the directive of the Holy Prophet. He wedded twice.


Nizam Gate Dargah Sharif

Mir Osman Ali Khan, The Nizam of Hyderabad Deccan,erected the main gate of the Dargah Sharif in 1911 A.D.

Buland Darwaza

High entrance that was erected by Sultan Mahmood Khilji . Before the commencement of Urs a flag is hoisted on top of this gatewith grand ceremony on the 25th Jamadiulsaani for ushering the 'Urs', which starts from 1st of Rajab.


Akbari Masjid

This Mosque was constructed by Emperor Akbar as a token of his Devotion and Gratitude on the occasion of the birth of prince Salim (Jahangir) in the year 1455 A.D.

Mehfil Khana Dargah Shareef

On the west of the Saham Chiragh stands the magnificent building of Samakhana or Mahfilkhana which was built by Nawab Bashir-ud-Dowla Sir Asmaan Jah of Hyderabad Deccan in 1888-91 A.D.


Badi Deg

On other side of the second gate there are two huge Degs fixed into solid masonryin which a palatable mixture of rice sugar, ghee and dried fruits are cooked for distribution to the public.

Small Deg(Chhoti Deg)

The circumference at the edge of the larger cauldron is 10-1/4 feet.It cooks 70 mounds of rice,while the smaller Deg takes 28 mounds. One of them was presented by Akbar in 1567 A.D.


Victoria Tank

In memory of Queen Mary’s visit to the Shrine, the roof of the Victoria tank was constructed by the British Government for the convenience of the people to perform ablution.

Langar Khana

In the eastern side of Sahan-e-Chiragh, there is a chain of small rooms. In the middle of this chain, stands a door..


Sandali Masjid

Sandali Mosque was built by the Empror Aurenzeb the elder son of Shah Jahan who build the Taj Mahal.

Auliya Masjid

The place where Khawaja Sahib stayed for a few days, when he came to Ajmer for the first time,has now been turned into a mosque called Aulia Masjid.


Arcot Dalaan

Arcot dalaan was built by Nawab Mohammed Ali of Arcot in 1800 and it is situated on the southern side of the Holy Shrine.

Baba Rehmat / Payanti Gate

Situated between Jama Masjid and Sandali Masjid in the premises of Hazrat khwaja Muinuddin's Dargah at Ajmer. Along the left-hand wall, in the background of the Sandal.


Jannati Darwaza

This gate too is situated on the western side of the Shrine adjacent to the tomb of Gaiti Ara.The doors of the gate are covered with silver metal. It is opened only four times during the year, viz.

Shahjahan Masjid

On the south wing of the Mahfil khana stands the Jama Masjid or Shah Jahani Mosque, which is a fine piece of Moghul architecture.


Baba Farid Chilla

Baba Farid performed chilla-e-makus, the difficult 40-day ascetic exercise by tying himself with a rope and hanging upside down in a well for 40 days and nights.

Sahan-e-Chiragh

Next to Buland Darwaza, there is a beautiful hexagon umbrella under which is placed a huge ancient brass lamp. Thus the yard is known as Sahan-e-Chiragh.


Khanqah

It is in the west and adjacent to the Mehfil Khana. Its entrance is through a door in northen corner of Mehfil Khana.

Ahata-e-Chambeli

After passing through Sahan-e-Chiragh there are two high doors in the middle of a row of small rooms.


Rauja e Munnawara

The construction of the Rauja-e-Munnawara and Gumbad Sharif was started during the reign of Sultan Mohammad Khilji.

Chaar Yaar

To the south wall of the Jama masjid Shahjahani there is a small door which leads to a large area.

The Ajmer Sharif Dargah lies at the foot of the northern extremity of hill. Its main attraction is the mausoleum containing the tomb of the saint which is the sanctum sanctorum of the dargah. The Dargah included many other attractive buildings, tombs, courtyards and Daalans some of which are exquisite specimens of the Mughal architecture and were erected during the Mughal period.
