Garib Nawaz – Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Was patron of the poor
Sultan-ul-Hind, Moinuddin Chishti was blessed in 1141 and passed on in 1236 CE. Also best-known as Garib Nawaz “Benefactor of the Poor”. He is the generally popular Sufi saint of the Chishti Order about the Indian Subcontinent. Garib Nawaz Moinuddin Chishti unveiled and established the sequence in that subcontinent. The first spiritual sequence or silsila of the Chishti order in India, which involves Moinuddin Chishti, Bakhtiyar Kaki, Baba Farid, Nizamuddin Auliya, Ashraf Jahangir Semnani (each following people to be the disciple of the earlier one), consists of the effective Sufi saints of Indian heritage.
